Habitat School Al Tallah – First School in UAE with an AI Lab

Al Tallah, Ajman: In a first anywhere in UAE Schools, Habitat’s Al Tallah School has upgraded its Cyber Square; which was introduced to students in Habitat Schools in the year 2014 and has been training children from Grade 1 in programming to an Artificial Intelligence Lab. This new AI lab which is the 1^stin a school in UAE was inaugurated ‘aiHab’, a robot mascot of the school’s AI programme, on 12 Dec 2019 at school premises.

Though Artificial Intelligence is already part of the university curriculum, at the school level, the CBSE-Indian board the school is affiliated to, has recently given directives to integrate AI into the curriculum from next year onwards for higher grades. Responding wholeheartedly to this the school has gone a step further and will be offering AI from Grade 2 onward with the AI curriculum already integrated into the latest textbooks the school will use from next academic year.

Furthermore, the AI labs and curriculum will be a feature of all Habitat Schools from the coming academic year. The school AI lab has a design which also gives students the history, characteristics and future of AI with cutting edge digital technologies and digital screens.

“UAE has taken great strides in this field; appointed a Ministry of State for AI and opened Mohamed bin Zayed University of AI [MBZUAI] the first AI University in the world. It makes me happy to see our schools follow in the footsteps of UAE’s vision”, said Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr al Nuaimi, Chairman of Habitat Schools, UAE.

CEO-Academics, Adil CT observed that “2014 onwards introducing students to programming through Cyber Square has helped them develop critical thinking skills and also perform well in board exams”

A parent, Mr Faroos, father of a Grade 5 child, had this to say about the Cyber Square, ” Cyber Square helps my child to acquire 21st-century skills like coding, critical thinking, presenting things in the most attractive way and showcasing the skills.

From coding & programming, AI is the next natural step which will equip students to work for the emerging needs of a future world”, remarked Muhammad Haris N.P, the conceptualizer of Cyber Square and AI Lab. The school constantly seeks to offer learners the newest technology interfaces to integrate 21st-century skills in the school curriculum. The next edition of the school’s noted DIGITAL FEST is coming on 26th Jan 2020.

അജ്മാൻ: ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് (നിർമ്മിത ബുദ്ധി) ലാബ് സംവിധാനം നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന യുഎഇയിലെ തന്നെ ആദ്യ വിദ്യാലയമായി അജ്മാൻ അൽ തല്ല ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ. ഒന്നാം ഗ്രേഡ് മുതലുള്ള വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് പരിശീലനം നൽകാൻ 2014ൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ച ‘സൈബർ സ്ക്വയർ’ ആണ് ഇപ്പോൾ ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് ലാബ് ആയി നവീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. യുഎഇയിലെ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിൽ ആദ്യമായി നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന നവീന സംരംഭത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ ഏഐ പ്രോഗ്രാമിലൂടെ നിർമിച്ച റോബോട്ട് ആയ ‘ഏഐ ഹാബ്’ നിർവഹിച്ചു.

സർവകലാശാല തലങ്ങളിൽ നിലവിൽ ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് പാഠ്യവിഷയമാണ്. ഭാവിയെ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യകളില് പുതുതലമുറയെ നിപുണരാക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ സിബിഎസ് ഇ അടുത്ത വർഷം മുതൽ ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് പാഠ്യവിഷയമാക്കും. ഇതിൽ നിന്നെല്ലാം പ്രചോദനം ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടാണ് ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ രണ്ടാം ഗ്രേഡ് മുതലുള്ള വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് പരിശീലനം നൽകുന്ന ഏഐ ലാബുമായി മുന്നോട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്. ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് പാഠ്യപദ്ധതി പ്രകാരമുള്ള ടെക്സ്റ്റ് ബുക്കുകൾ തയ്യാറായി കഴിഞ്ഞു. അടുത്ത അധ്യയന വർഷത്തെ പാഠ്യപദ്ധതിയിൽ ഇത് നടപ്പിലാക്കും. മുഴുവൻ ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂളൂകളിലും അടുത്ത വർഷത്തോടെ ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് ലാബുകൾ നിലവിൽ വരും. ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസിൻറെ ചരിത്രം, സവിശേഷതകൾ, ഭാവി തുടങ്ങിയവ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് എളുപ്പത്തിൽ മനസിലാക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്ന തരത്തിലുള്ള നൂതന സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയിലൂടെയാണ് ഏഐ ലാബ് രൂപകൽപന ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.

ആർട്ടിഫിഷ്യൽ ഇന്റലിജൻസ് മേഖലയിൽ യുഎഇ അതിവേഗം കുതിക്കുകയാണ്. ഏഐ ചുമതലയുള്ള മന്ത്രിയെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചതും അബുദാബി മുഹമ്മദ് ബിൻ സായിദ് സർവകലാശാല ലോകത്തെ തന്നെ ആദ്യ ഏഐ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ആയതുമെല്ലാം യുഎഇയുടെ ഈ മേഖലയിലെ കുതിപ്പിൻറെ അടയാളങ്ങളാണ്. യുഎഇയുടെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകൾ പിന്തുടരുന്ന ആശയവുമായി മുന്നോട്ടുവരാനായതിൽ അതിയായ സന്തോഷം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതായി ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ ചെയർമാൻ ഷെയ്ഖ് സുൽത്താൻ ബിൻ സഖർ അൽ നുഐമി പറഞ്ഞു.

വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ വിമർശനാത്മക ചിന്താശേഷി വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും മികച്ച പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവെക്കുന്നതിനും ‘സൈബർ സ്ക്വയർ’ വലിയ പങ്കുവഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ അക്കാഡമിക്സ് സിഇഓ സി. ടി. ആദിൽ പറഞ്ഞു. പാഠ്യവിഷയങ്ങൾ ആകർഷകമായി കുട്ടികളിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുന്നതിൽ സൈബർ സ്ക്വയർ പദ്ധതി സഹായകരമായതായി രക്ഷാകർതൃ പ്രതിനിധി ഫാറൂസ് അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു.

സ്കൂൾ പാഠ്യപദ്ധതിയിലെ സാങ്കേതിക വിഷയങ്ങൾക്ക് നിരന്തര നവീകരണം ആവശ്യമാണെന്നും അത്തരം പുനർപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്ക് പദ്ധതി ഊർജം പകരുമെന്നും സൈബർ സ്ക്വയർ-ഏഐ ലാബ് പദ്ധതികളുടെ കൺസെപ്ച്ചലൈസർ ആയ എൻ. പി. മുഹമ്മദ് ഹാരിസ് പറഞ്ഞു.

പുതിയ കാലഘട്ടത്തിനു അനുയോജ്യരായ തലമുറയെ വാർത്തെടുക്കുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ നിരവധി നവീന പദ്ധതികളാണ് ഹാബിറ്റാറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ നടപ്പിലാക്കി വരുന്നത്. സ്കൂളിന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ ഡിജിറ്റൽ ഫെസ്റ്റിന്റെ അടുത്ത ഘട്ടം 2020 ജനുവരി 26നു നടക്കും.
